Ulul Albab: Jurnal Studi Islam is a peer-reviewed journal published biannually (June and December) by Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang since 2000. Ulul Albab: Jurnal Studi Islam has been accredited (Sinta 1) by The Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. This journal is in collaboration with Asilha (Asosiasi Ilmu Hadis Indonesia).

The journal publishes articles on Islamic Studies that cover both literary and fieldwork research. The journal aims to advance scholarly discourse on Islamic studies by providing a platform for research that explores various dimensions of Islam encompassing textual, historical, and empirical perspectives across classical, medieval, modern, and contemporary periods within the Islamic world. It particularly emphasizes Islamic philosophy and mysticism, Islamic politics and society, Tafsir and Hadith, Islamic education and history, as well as Islamic law and economics.

Ulul Albab: Jurnal Studi Islam is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to any user or institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the original articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access. The journal has been indexed by Crossref since 2015. Therefore, all articles have unique DOI number.

Call for Papers 2027
Ulul Albab: Jurnal Studi Islam (Journal of Islamic Studies) invites scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit original research that critically examines gender, ethics, and contemporary issues in Islamic Studies. We particularly welcome manuscripts that contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially those related to Gender Equality (SDG 5), Good Health & Well-Being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), as well as Peace & Inclusive Societies (SDG 16) through innovative Islamic Studies research.
