Journal of Circular Environmental Infrastructure and Systems (CIRCULAR) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Indonesia. The journal is dedicated to advancing knowledge, innovation, and policy in environmental engineering, with a particular emphasis on circular environmental systems as a pathway toward sustainable development.

CIRCULAR promotes high-quality scholarly publications that contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the application of circular economy principles, life cycle thinking, and resource efficiency. The journal welcomes original contributions in, but not limited to, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), environmental systems analysis, cleaner production, waste and wastewater resource recovery, renewable energy, sustainable environmental technologies, water and wastewater engineering, solid waste management, environmental pollution control, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and other interdisciplinary topics in environmental engineering.

The journal also encourages the integration of environmental engineering with ethical and philosophical perspectives, including Islamic sustainability values that emphasize the human responsibility as khalifah fil ardh (stewards of the Earth) to maintain environmental balance (mīzān) and prevent environmental degradation (fasād). This perspective serves as an ethical foundation while remaining open to scientific contributions from researchers of diverse disciplines and backgrounds worldwide.

CIRCULAR publishes original research articles, review articles, conceptual papers, and technological development studies in both English and Indonesian. The journal aims to become a reputable scientific platform for disseminating innovative research and fostering collaboration among researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and industry in advancing circular environmental engineering and sustainable environmental solutions at both national and international levels.
