Author Guidelines

TAMADDUN is a scholarly journal publishing fresh and original thoughts and researches pertaining to the studies of Islamic thought, Islamic law, Islamic philosophy, and other areas related to Islamic studies. It is a media for Muslim scholars whose objectives are to share and discuss their opinions, thoughts, and researches with each other and to make Islamic values and teachings become parts of the solutions for contemporary problems. TAMADDUN is published twice per year in June and December by the Postgraduate Program of Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University, Malang.

The primary criterion for publication in the journal is the significance of the contribution an article makes to the literature in the business area, i.e., the significance of the contribution and the rigor of the analysis and the presentation of the paper. The acceptance decision is made based upon an independent review process that provides critically constructive and prompt evaluations of submitted manuscripts.

The primary, but not exclusive, audience is academicians, postgraduate students, and other people interested in Islamic research.

The objective of the journal is to provide the widest possible dissemination of knowledge, based on systematic scholarly inquiries into business as a field of professional research and educational activity. As part of this process, authors are encouraged to make their data available for use by others in extending or replicating the results reported in their articles. The authors of articles that report data-dependent results should footnote the status of the data’s availability and, when pertinent, this should be accompanied by information on how the data may be obtained.

An objective of the Journal is to promote the wide dissemination of the results of systematic scholarly inquiries into the broad field of Islamic studies. Permission is hereby granted to reproduce any of the contents of the journal for use in courses of instruction are indicated in any such reproductions.

A written application must be made to the editor-in-chief for permission to reproduce any of the contents of the journal for use in anything other than a course of instruction - e. g., inclusion in books of readings or in any other publications intended for general distribution. In consideration for the grant of permission by the journal in such instances, the applicant must notify the author(s) in writing of the intended use to be made of each reproduction. Normally, the journal will not access a charge for the waiver of copyright.

Except where otherwise noted in articles, the copyright of articles in the journal has been transferred to the journal. Where the author(s) has (have) not transferred the copyright to the Tamaddun, the applicant must seek permission to reproduce (for all purposes) directly from the author(s).

TAMADDUN will not charge anything to the author for a submission fee or publication fee. Once the issue is published, the author will get an issue by email and/or the postal system.
