Author Guidelines

Article Template

1. Paper submission

Paper is a result of research or thought related to language and literature. Paper must consist of original, unpublished work not under consideration of publication elsewhere. Paper must be written in English minimum of 3.500 words and no longer than 7.000 words excluding abstract and references.

2. Paper format

Paper format is (A4), Palatino Linotype 11 and space 1, in format (*.doc or *.docx).

Body of paper should be as follows:

a. Introduction elaborates background of study, research problem, purpose, significance, approach,

b. Theoretical Framework,

c. Method,

d. Findings and Discussion,

e. Conclusion

Other forms of body of paper is also acknowledged whenever the form of the paper is suitable.


Paper subheading as follows:
First Level : ALL CAPITAL LETTER, BOLD, LEFT JUSTIFY
Second Level : Capital Letter-small letter, Bold, Left Justify
Third Level : Capital Letter-small letter, Bold, Italic, Left Justify

Paper of research result must be consist of (a) Title; (b) Name of author without academic degree; (c) Institution; (d) corresponding email; (e) Abstract (maximum 200 words); (f) Keywords; (g) Introduction without heading included review of related literature and purpose; (h) Method; (i) Findings and Discussion; (j) Closing; (k) References and (l) Attachment (if inquired).

Paper of thought result must be consist of (a) Title; (b) Name of author(s) without academic degree; (c) Institution; (d) corresponding email; (e) Abstract (maximum 200 words); (f) Keywords; (g) Introduction without heading; (h) Content; (i) Closing; and (j) References.

Title
The title is not more than 12 words. If the paper is a resume of thesis, the title of paper may not be as same as thesis title because paper is thesis core.

Author
Name of author is not espoused by academic title. Institution and email must be written under author name. If author is studying, the name of university can be written down as the institution. If author more than one person, all of authors’ name must be written include their corresponding email.

Abstract and keywords
Abstract is written in English and Indonesian not longer than 200 words included research problem, review of related literature, method, and conclusion. Keywords are not more than five words.

In note
References should be up to date and should use in note, for example: Littlejohn (2002, p. 19) or (Littlejohn, 2002, p. 19)
 

References

Since the submitted papers are research-based papers, the references used in the papers should be more current (within the last 5 years) to provide the novelty of the papers. The number of references is at minimum 20, with at least 50% of the primary references are taken from journal articles.


Example of reference writing:

Zhong, B. (2021). Social media communication: Trends and theories. John Wiley & Sons.

(Last name, initial. (Publication year). Book title. Publisher.)

Thus, reference writing is accord with A.P.A (American Psychological Association) as follows:


1.    Reference published periodically

3. Submission Fee

Paradigm: Journal of Language and Literary Studies is an open access international journal. Starting from the publication Volume 6, No. 1 (April) 2023, Author(s), excluding Member of Editors/Editorial Board, should pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 300.000,- or 25 USD per article or FREE OF CHARGE for article collaborating with non-Indonesia-based author, once the manuscript is published.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
