Optimisme dan religiusitas sebagai prediktor subjective well-being mahasiswa tingkat pertama
Abstract
Abstract: First year undergraduete students need high subjective well-being to reduce the negative emotions they feel. This research aims to study the effect of optimism and religiosity on subjective well-being among first year undergraduete students. Having correlational quantitative design, this research involving 250 first year students at three Bojonegoro universities as a sample which is taken by quota sampling technique. There are four instruments used, namely satisfaction with life scale (SWLS), scale of positive and negative experiences (SPANE), life orientation test-revised (LOT-R) and Centrality Religiosity Scale (CRS). Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The result shows that partially optimism and religiosity have a significant effect on subjective well-being. Besides, both optimism and religiosity contribute forming subjective well-being. Contribution of the two variables shows that other variables can be used for further research.
Abstrak: Mahasiswa tahun pertama membutuhkan subjective well-being yang tinggi untuk mengurangi emosi-emosi negatif yang dirasakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh optimisme dan religiusitas terhadap subjective well-being. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif korelasional dengan melibatkan 250 mahasiswa tahun pertama di tiga perguruan tinggi Bojonegoro. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan quota sampling. Ada empat macam inStrument yang digunakan yaitu satisfaction with life scale (SWLS), scale of positive and negative experiences (SPANE),life orientation test-revised (LOT-R) dan Centrality Religiosity Scale (CRS). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa optimisme dan religiusitas masing-masing menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap terbentuknya subjective well-being. Optimisme dan religiusitas juga bersama-sama berkontribusi terhadap subjective well-being. Pengaruh kedua variable mengimplikasikan bahwa mahasiswa membutuhkan upaya mempertahankan optimisme dan mengasah religiusitasnya untuk mlain yang bisa digunakan untuk meningkatkan subjective well-being.
