Withdrawal Policy

Withdrawal Policy

Authors are not permitted to withdraw a manuscript once it has entered the peer review process at MATICS: Jurnal Ilmu Komputer dan Teknologi Informasi (Journal of Computer Science and Information Technology), except under exceptional circumstances.

  • Before Review Process:

Authors may request withdrawal by emailing the editorial office before the manuscript enters the peer review process. A valid and acceptable reason must be provided in the request.

  • After Review Has Begun:

Withdrawal at this stage is strongly discouraged. Authors who repeatedly withdraw manuscripts after the review has begun may be subject to blacklisting and may be barred from future submissions.

Penalty/Fine: Withdrawals after the peer review process has started may incur a penalty or fine. The amount and specific terms will be determined by the editorial board on a case-by-case basis.

  • After Acceptance:

Withdrawal after a manuscript has been accepted for publication is considered highly unethical. A strong and clearly justified reason must be provided, and approval is at the full discretion of the editorial board. Such cases may affect the authors' future publication opportunities in this journal.

  • No Response from Authors:

Manuscripts without any response or communication from the authors for more than 30 days may be withdrawn automatically by the editorial board. Such conduct is considered unethical and reflects a lack of responsibility on the part of the authors. While no financial penalty will be imposed, authors who fail to respond without valid reason may be blacklisted from submitting to MATICS: Jurnal Ilmu Komputer dan Teknologi Informasi (Journal of Computer Science and Information Technology) in the future.

  • Duplicate Submission or Misconduct:

If a manuscript is withdrawn due to confirmed duplicate submission or other unethical practices (e.g., plagiarism, data manipulation), the manuscript will be permanently rejected and the authors may be banned from future submissions.

  • Administrative Withdrawal:

The editor-in-chief or editorial board reserves the right to withdraw a manuscript at any stage if serious issues are discovered, including but not limited to authorship disputes, ethical violations, or irreparable flaws in the manuscript.

To request a withdrawal, authors must send an email to: matics@uin-malang.ac.id
