Journal History

The journal "LiNGUA" was established by the Decree of the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Culture at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Number: Un.3.4/KP.01.1/89/2005, dated October 10, 2005. It focuses on developing linguistic and language sciences, as well as literature among academics who are experts in their fields. LINGUA was accredited “B” in 2009 by DIKTI, with certificate number 83/DIKTI/Kep/2009. Through the publication of scientific articles, the Faculty of Humanities at Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang contributes to the community by sharing the results of scientific studies. It also serves as a medium of information on the existence of the Language and Literature Study Program (Arabic/English) within the global academic landscape. Thus, the relationship between Islamic Higher Education Institutions and the community is synergistic. In 2015, the journal was registered with LIPI for its electronic version under the name "LiNGUA: Journal of Language and Literature," with the number 2442-3823. In 2020, LiNGUA achieved SINTA 2 accreditation.

LiNGUA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra has been changing and improving throughout the years. This journal history is as follows:

  1. Since Volume 18 No. 1 (2023), the journal has changed the template.
  2. Since October 2023, the journal has signed an agreement of cooperation with Linguistic and Literature Association (LITA) Indonesia. See the MOU here.
  3. Starting from the LiNGUA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra publication Volume 19, No. 1 (June) 2024, Author(s), excluding Member of Editors/Editorial Board, should pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 1.500.000,- or 75 USD per article or IDR 1.000.000,- or 50 USD for article colaborating with non-Indonesian author, once the manuscript is published.
  4. Since March 2024, LiNGUA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra does not issue Letter of Acceptance, but LiNGUA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra applies the email of acceptance as the administrative evidence of acceptance. LiNGUA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra will deliver the email of acceptance to authors who have complied with the processes of review, revision, and editing, and before the process of layouting. LiNGUA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra will not deliver such email before the processes above.
