Author Guidelines

The Journal of Statistical Analysis invites authors to submit original research articles, reviews, and methodological papers related to statistics. To ensure a smooth submission and publication process, authors should adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Manuscript Preparation

  • Language: All manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English. Poorly written papers may be returned without review.
  • File Format: Submissions should be in Microsoft Word format.
  • Length: Manuscripts should not exceed 10,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures.
  • Abstract: Include an abstract of no more than 250 words that summarizes the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: Provide 4-6 relevant keywords to facilitate indexing.

2. Manuscript Structure

  • Title Page: Include the title of the paper, author names, affiliations, and contact information for the corresponding author.
  • Introduction: Clearly state the research question or objective, providing background and rationale.
  • Methods: Provide sufficient detail on the methods used, allowing for reproducibility.
  • Results: Present findings clearly, using tables and figures where appropriate.
  • Discussion: Interpret the findings in the context of existing literature, highlighting significance and potential applications.
  • Conclusion: Summarize the main findings and their implications.
  • References: Follow the APA citation style or a similar recognized format.

3. Submission Process

  • Online Submission: All manuscripts must be submitted via the journal’s online submission system.
  • Cover Letter: A cover letter should accompany the manuscript, briefly introducing the research and stating its significance.
  • Ethical Compliance: Authors must confirm that the research adheres to ethical guidelines, including informed consent, when applicable.
  • Plagiarism: The manuscript should be original work, and any form of plagiarism will lead to immediate rejection.

4. Figures and Tables

  • Format: Figures should be high resolution (300 dpi or higher) and submitted in JPEG or PNG format. Tables should be editable and not embedded as images.
  • Numbering: Number all figures and tables consecutively and refer to them in the text.
  • Captions: Provide clear, descriptive captions for all figures and tables.

5. Review Process

  • Peer Review: All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Authors should ensure that the manuscript does not contain any information that reveals their identity.
  • Revisions: Authors are expected to respond to reviewer comments promptly and thoroughly, making necessary revisions to the manuscript.

6. Copyright and Open Access

  • Copyright Transfer: Upon acceptance, authors are required to transfer copyright to the journal. However, authors retain the right to reuse their work in future publications with proper acknowledgment of the original source.
  • Open Access: This journal is an open access journal, so articles are freely available to the public.

7. Publication Ethics

  • Authorship: All authors should have contributed significantly to the work. Any disputes regarding authorship should be resolved before submission.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
  • Data Availability: Authors are encouraged to share data sets where appropriate, ensuring transparency and reproducibility.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  • Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.  Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
  • Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.

Journal of Statistical Analysis Publication Ethics

This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all stakeholders involved in the act of publishing a manuscript in Journal of Statistical Analysis such as writers, editors, and reviewers, which are managed by Program Studi Perpustakaan dan Ilmu Informasi, Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang.

 

This statement based on COPE's Best Practice standards

 

1. Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

 

Ethics is an aspect that needs to be considered before publishing a manuscript. Journal of Statistical Analysis publishes manuscripts from accountable various author sources. It is important for the development of science in order to participate in improving the quality of education and advancing public life. Therefore, journal publication ethics need to be considered and carried out by writers, journal editors, reviewers, publishers and the public.

 

2. Publication Decision

 

LibTech: The Journal of Library and Information Science has a policy before publication, both printed and online, which is to carry out a discussion and review process between the Chief Editor and Editorial members as well as reviewer. This includes all processes from manuscript submission, editor checking, reviewer checking, layout checking, plagiarism, and copyright checking. Everything is under the supervision of the Editor in Chief and other authorized Editors.

 

3. Non-Discrimination

 

In each publishing process of LibTech: Library and Information Science Journal, editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts for the scientific content of the manuscripts without regard to differences in race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy of the authors. It has been done to keep the ethical principle of publishing Journal of Statistical Analysis which is non-discrimination.

 

4. Confidentiality

 

Journal of Statistical Analysis has highly respected the confidentiality of manuscript, where editors and reviewers are not allowed to reveal a lot of information about a manuscript that has been submitted. Every submitted manuscript has been strictly kept confidential by the editors, reviewers and publishers. Considering the blind-reviewer system, every manuscript that has been sent to the reviewer can only be discussed with the editors and author.

 

5. Contribution to Editorial Decisions

 

Publishing manuscripts in Journal of Statistical Analysis involves reviewers in their field, the decisions of the reviewers contribute to the editor's decisions for each manuscript. Journal of Statistical Analysis uses a blind-review process, in which the results of the reviewers are communicated back to the authors to improve the quality of the authors' research.

 

6. Timeliness

 

Journal of Statistical Analysis is very concerned about the timeliness of publications and information to the authors. Each manuscript submitted to the Journal of Statistical Analysis is informed to the authors and reviewers to be processed according to the basic provisions. If the reviewer does not carry out his duties on time, the editor decides to replace another reviewer with a higher quality. In order to punctuality publishing we stay consistent as set.

 

7. Standards of Objectivity

 

Every manuscript that is submitted to the LibTech: Library and Information Science Journal, editors and reviewers are required to evaluate the manuscript against the established standards. However, review comments from editors and reviewers need to respect and appreciate the author. Reviewers are required to be consistent in their decisions and recommendations to editors and authors.

 

8. Acknowledgment of Sources

 

The reviewers are required to pay attention to every source that comes from all manuscripts submitted to LibTech: Library and Information Science Journal, where the manuscript is submitted by the author through the editor. Each source needs to be verified and updated, and acknowledged through a list of trusted references.

 

9. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

 

Specific information or ideas obtained through peer-reviews must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts for which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with the authors, companies, or other institutions related on research. Unpublished material disclosed in the submitted manuscript will not be used without the written consent of the author.

 

10. Reporting Standard

 

The author of the research report must present an accurate report of the work that has been done. The data presented contains reliable reference sources and is contained in the manuscript. Fraudulent or intentionally inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable behavior.

 

11. Data Access and Retention

 

Authors are required to provide raw data with respect to a paper for editorial review, and should be prepared to provide public access to such data. This is to facilitate the refinement of the author's manuscript in accordance with the rules of LibTech: Library and Information Science Journal.

 

12. Originality and Plagiarism

 

Authors must ensure that they have written the entire original work, and if the authors have used the work or words of another person, it must be properly cited. If some problems are found related to citing and or plagiarism in the author's work, the manuscript is automatically rejected.

 

13. Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publications

 

An author may not publish a manuscript describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or major publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time is an unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior

 

14. Acknowledgment of Sources

 

Each manuscript submitted must provide acknowledgment of appropriate sources and be able to add value to the manuscript, all such acknowledgments must be clearly stated in the list of references.

 

15. Research Authorship

 

Authors of the manuscript should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, conduct, or interpretation of the reported research. All who have made significant contributions must be listed as co-authors. Authors listed in the manuscript have a responsibility to keep the co-authors posted with the review process. If accepted, all authors are required to provide a signed statement that the research work is their original research work.

 

16. Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects

 

If the work involves chemicals, procedures or tools that have unusual hazards inherent in their use, the author must clearly identify them in the manuscript.

 

17. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

 

All authors should disclose in their manuscripts everything that supports the completion of their research. All supporting financial sources for research should be disclosed.

 

18. Fundamental Errors in Published Works

 

When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his published work, it is the author's obligation to immediately notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to withdraw or correct the manuscript.
