MATICS is a scientific publication for widespread research and criticism topics in Computer Science and Information Technology. The journal is published twice a year, in March and September by Department of Informatics Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Indonesia. 

The journal publishes two regular issues per year in the following areas : Algorithms and Complexity; Architecture and Organization; Computational Science; Discrete Structures; Graphics and Visualization; Human-Computer Interaction; Information Assurance and Security; Information Management; Intelligent Systems; Networking and Communication; Operating Systems; Platform-Based Development; Parallel and Distributed Computing; Programming Languages; Software Development Fundamentals; Software Engineering; Systems Fundamentals; Social Issues and Professional Practice.

Since September 2021 (Vol 13, No 2), the journal has been ACCREDITATED with grade "SINTA 4" by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Technology (Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi, Riset dan Teknologi) of The Indonesia Republic. The recognition published in Director Decree No. 105/E/KPT/2022 April 7, 2022 effective until 2026 (Vol 18, No 1).

(Journal of Computer Science and Information Technology) has undergone several changes and updates throughout its publication history:

  • 2010: Volume 4 No. 1 cover color changed from white to red;
  • 2010: Volume 4 No. 2 cover color changed from red to pink;
  • 2011: Volume 4 No. 3 cover color changed from pink to yellow;
  • 2011: Volume 4 No. 4 cover color changed from yellow to blue;
  • 2012: Volume 4 No. 5 cover color changed from blue to purple;
  • 2025: Volume 18 No. 1 cover color changed from purple to blue;
  • Since 2022: All submitted manuscripts must be written in English;
